We run a number of tree planting initiatives at local schools each year, and these programs provide fun and
motivation for students, while at the same time teaching them the importance of concern for the environment,
focusing on the issue of deforestation.
We are currently planting 500 indigenous trees per year at Mfuwe Day Secondary school and at Chiwawatala
Basic School. The saplings are bought from local tree nurseries, before being taken to the schools, where
the children take ownership. The students take great pride in "their" trees, and the programs have been very
successful in educating the students and helping the environment as well!
